Many young school leavers in South Africa are not ready or equipped for the Digital Age and sadly this means they are being left behind and their employment options will become increasingly limited.
The other reality is if we don't do something about it, it will have a
negative impact on the economy as a whole.
Our aim is to create awareness and educate our youth to become
self sustainable by using the internet
There are numerous training facilities training people for jobs that are completely saturated. There are 1,200 applicants per position in generic roles requiring limited prior work experience such as bank tellers and call centre agents). However, there are in demand jobs that did not exist 10 years ago and there are very few people who are skilled to do these jobs.
Training our youth to be able to use various online tools such as website building, blogging, how to use and set shopping carts, autoresponders, how to use social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, video editing and then to also train our youth how to work with business owners, how to understand their needs and their target audience will greatly benefit both the employer and the newly trained knowledge worker.
For budding entrepreneurs, it can help them start their own businesses and for job seekers it can springboard young people into new career opportuntiies as well as make them employable at a global level. Here are just a few:

"We pretend that success is exclusively a matter of individual merit.
But success is not that simple.
Success happens because people were given special opportunities
and worked really hard and seized it. Success is not just of their own making.
It's a product of the world in which they grew up in." ~ Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers
This e-book was inspired by an initiative we have now started in 2012 at Direct Assist Online. For years we've been passionate in helping change the lives of people less fortunate, people who do not have the same opportunities that others have. We've set up a non-profit organisation called Shaping Futures because we believe, with the help of the people around you, you can change your life. All monies collected from these e-books will go towards shaping the life of another. Our focus is to work with underprivileged school leavers and help them learn new skills for a new age, the digital age. Our long term vision is to work with struggling and start-up businesses with no budget to create a gap so they too can become a positive contribution to society.
We haven't place a price tag on the e-book, we felt that it should be based on what this would meant to you.
You Determine the Value!
